Accomack County utilizes BoardDocs, which is a web-based system that provides a means for immediately publishing and revising Board meeting agenda items and supporting documents and for posting Board of Supervisor and Planning Commission meeting agendas. This innovative system allows the administration to quickly and easily create, approve and track agenda items and other correspondence. BoardDocs allows the county to provide greater access to meeting agendas for all parties involved.

Meeting Schedule
The Accomack County Board of Supervisors meets the third Wednesday of every month with work sessions held, as needed, on the first Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 5 p.m. and are held in the Board Chambers located in the Accomack County Administration Building at 23296 Courthouse Avenue, Accomac, VA.

Meetings may be extended to other dates or special meetings may be called, as required. Please reference the calendar below for upcoming meetings.   Public Hearings begin at 6:30 PM. Closed session will typically follow the regular session.

The Accomack County Board of Supervisors invites its citizens to attend a Town Hall meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, to afford interest persons the opportunity to comment on the following proposed new Public Safety Initiatives, which have been proposed for Fiscal Year 2023:

1. Hire an additional 31 employees to provide 24/7 fire and emergency medical services from volunteer fire and rescue stations located in the following towns: Melfa, Saxis, Tangier, and Wachapreague. Currently, Melfa, Saxis, and Tangier stations are staffed by County personnel only during daytime hours. Wachapreague is presently not staffed by the County.

2. Hire four additional Deputy Sheriffs to address the spike in violent crime and balance the existing workload.
