July 2013 - Governor recommends award of $4 million in financial assistance to be used to construct a 1,200 foot taxiway from Wallops Research Park to the Wallops Flight Facility airfield. Accomack County issues approximately $4 million in public bonds to finance development of the Wallops Research Park.
November 6, 2013 - County enters into contract with Davis, Bowen, & Friedel, Inc. for Wallops Research Park construction project management services.
November 19, 2013 - Accomack County accepts $4 million grant for taxiway construction from Virginia Department of Transportation.
February 26, 2014 - Wallops Research Park Manager hired.
April 16, 2014 – Accomack County Board of Supervisors accept E.V. Williams, Inc. for Taxiway Design and Construction Services.
April 16, 2014 – Accomack County Board of Supervisors accept Dixie Construction Services for Road and Utility Extensions.

August 23, 2018 - Virginia Space/Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport begin operating out of 15,000 sf facility on 7414 Atlantic Road in the Wallops Research Park
October 17, 2018 - Rocket Lab expects to create around 30 jobs to directly support Launch Complex 2. 10,000 sf vehicle assembly building slated for Aerospace Gateway in the Wallops Research Park. First flights expected third quarter of 2019.
