HISTORY:
January 2016: The Accomack County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing and adopted a Comprehensive Plan amendment relating to the Accomack County Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). The amended Comprehensive Plan in its entirety may be found here.
From September 2012 to November 2013: The Accomack County Planning Commission worked diligently to complete a review of the 2008 Accomack County Comprehensive Plan, which is required to be done every 5 years. This 5-year review was limited in scope and was focused solely on the Future Land Use Plan (Chapter 6) of the Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on November 13, 2013 to receive input on the proposed changes to the Future Land Use Plan and following the public hearing, voted to recommend approval of the Comprehensive Plan update to the Board of Supervisors.
On February 19, 2014, the Accomack County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing and following the hearing, and after making minor changes, voted to adopt the amendments to the Future Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive Plan
