Eastern Shore Navigable Waterways Committee

PURPOSE

 The mission and purpose of the Committee shall be to study and advise their respective Board's on the following:

- The condition and status of waterways,

- A listing and prioritization of the Shore's water navigation needs,

- Possible solutions to water transport needs.

 

ENABLING LEGISLATION

Created by joint resolution adoption of Accomack and Northampton County Boards of Supervisors in 2015.

 

MEETING FREQUENCY

 Quarterly January, April, July, October, or as needed.

MEETING TIME AND LOCATION

Location changes periodically  between the following locations - Please contact staff to confirm the location.

- Accomack-Northampton Planning District Commission (A-NPDC), Accomac

- Northampton County, Eastville

- Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), Wachapreague

Resolution calls for two members of each Board of Supervisors and three citizen members from each county.

Term – three years.
