NAME OF PUBLIC BODY
Metompkin Rehabilitation Board
PURPOSE
The Metompkin Rehabilitation Board is appointed by the Accomack County Board of Supervisors and reviews/implements the Program Design. The Housing Rehab Board has the authority to make critical decisions for the housing rehabilitation component of the project, such as which families are eligible for the program; the approval of applications, work write-ups, pre-qualification of contractors, and bids; and in what order the work will be performed. In addition to these design and housekeeping matters, this board has the authority to monitor the budget for housing rehabilitation activities and approve payments to contractors. The Board performs tasks specific to the housing rehabilitation of the grant project.
ENABLING LEGISLATION
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding was established by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974.
