Candidacy Requirements for candidates seeking to run for office may be found at the  State Board of Elections website and/or by contacting the Voter Registration Office and they will be glad to walk you through the process.

Filing deadlines and the officer with whom the qualifying forms are filed are addressed for each candidate type, i.e., Primary Candidate, Party Candidate nominated by method other than a Primary and for an Independent (Non-Party) candidate on the State Board of Elections web site.

Documents required to be filed:

• Certificate of Candidate Qualification
• Declaration of Candidacy
• Petitions containing required number of registered voter signatures
• Statement of Organization for a Candidate
• Statement of Economic Interests

Any person wishing to run on a party ticket should contact their party Chairman for more information.

The only candidates that may have a party designation on a ballot are those running for federal, statewide, or General Assembly offices.
