Ballots are available 45 days before a General, Primary and most Special Elections. The deadline for applying to vote absentee by mails is 5:00pm the Tuesday before the election. All ballots must be received by the Electoral Board by 7:00pm on Election Day. If returning the ballot to the Electoral Board in person, only the voter may return it.
The deadline for applying and casting your ballot in-person is the Saturday before the election. You may check the status of your absentee ballot by going to https://www.elections.virginia.gov/registration/voter-forms/index.html.
If you are a disabled or ill voter you may apply for an Annual Absentee Application:
The Annual Absentee Ballot Application may be used by any registered voters who is unable to go in person to the polls on the day of election because of disability or illness & is likely to remain disabled or ill for the remainder of the calendar year. MILITARY & OVERSEAS VOTERS
