The County of Accomack understands that having financial peace of mind, allows employees to be happier and more productive workers. The following programs and tools that may be able to help:
Credit Union Bank Membership
Credit Unions offer the same services as banks but often have lower fees, higher savings rates, free or low-cost services, and lower loan rates.
Accomack County understands the advantages of credit unions and the importance of giving employees financial opportunities in banking. This is why the County offers employees membership to two credit unions:

Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit of checks is a condition of employment for Accomack County employees, with the exception of temporary employees. Not only does direct deposit save the environment of paper, it saves the County time and money associated with printing checks, and it saves the employee the time and hassle of making trips to the bank. Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP offers employees and members of their household free and confidential counseling services including financial counseling. To read more about the EAP, click here.

Fraud Hotline
The Fraud Hotline assists the County in preventing and detecting incidents of fraud, waste and abuse within its operations. Tips and complaints are the most common way fraud is detected in an organization so it is in the County’s best interest to make reporting as easy as possible. If you are aware of or suspect fraud, report it immediately. Reports may be made anonymously.
To make a report:
- Call (757) 789-3139.
- You will be requested to leave a voice mail with sufficient details to allow the matter to be investigated. You may leave contact information if you wish but you are not required to do so. If you wish to remain anonymous, please be sure to leave as much information about the incident as possible. A description of the act, the date and time it occurred, information to help identify those involved and how you became aware of the matter are all important details that will assist us in our investigation.

Wage Calculator
An employer will withhold money for federal taxes, state taxes, social security, and medicare. The amount withheld will depend on several factors including income, allowances, and filling status. Use the wage calculator as a tool to estimate your take-home pay after withholdings are taken.
