Storm Drainage Program Coordinator

Accomack County is currently recruiting for a full-time Storm Drainage Program Coordinator.  The position is responsible for evaluating project sites; obtaining easements and regulatory clearances; working with contracted vendors for excavating and tree removal services for the purpose of maintaining the County’s Storm Drainage Program.  The position also compiles and submits required written reports.  The position reports to the Deputy Director of Infrastructure and Systems in Public Works.

Minimum qualifications are:  a H.S. diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training either in equipment operation; maintenance and repair or general office support;  1– 3 years’ experience in procurement of services through government bid processes;  or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: prior work experience for a public entity and familiarity with Virginia procurement act and managing third party vendor contracts.

Possession of a valid driver license and the satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screening, background check and DMV records check are required prior to employment.  Electronic applications are preferred but paper versions will be accepted if complete.  This position is open until filled and review of applications will begin on Thursday, August 22, 2024
